Install Windows Xp Toshiba Satellite M200
The laptop itself is fine, quite practical, and has not been configured to work solely with Windows Vista. The issue is that Toshiba, like most other manufacturers, only support the usage of Vista on the laptop, not legacy versions of Windows. That means you're entirely on your own in trying to find drivers that make all of the hardware work properly under Windows XP, keeping in mind they may not even exist. It's like buying a new car and attempting to replace the engine with one from an old model.it may work, but the manufacturer/seller won't help you with it and you'll likely have to do a lot of patch work yourself. My advice: If you want Windows XP, shop around for a model that's still shipping with it preinstalled. Dell is the most notable option, with several models letting you choose with OS you want. That way you can still upgrade to Vista down the road, but won't have XP driver issues for the time being.
Best Answer: This is in case you cannot boot into windows but you can get into bios: Open your disk drive. Insert windows operating system disk into your disk drive. Restart your computer. If you can get to the stage where you can see see bios entry key then keep pressing whatever key it is that you press to get into bios at start up.
TOSHIBA Support Document98082243 left out a step. I have changed step 6. DO NOT USE 'Chicony USB 2.0 Camera' driver. Follow these steps to re-install the driver for the webcam. You will need to be logged in as an Administrator or have an Administrator password ready. Click the Windows Start button.
Click Control Panel, System and Maintenance and then Device Manager. Right-click on Chicony USB 2.0 Camera and select Update Driver Software.
A yellow exclamation point indicates that the camera is recognized by Windows but is not working properly, probably because of problem with the device driver 4. Select Browse my computer for the driver software.
Driver Toshiba Satellite M200
Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer. Select USB Video Device from the list, and click Next. If 'USB Video Device' is not on the list A - Unchek box 'Show Compatible Hardware' B - Select Manufacturer = Microsoft C - Select 'USB Video Driver' D - Select NEXT 7. If the message?Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device? Appears, click Close. Restart Windows. I just got mine working.
I also deleted any dupicate Chicony Web Camera entries in Device manager and remove any entries in Unknown Devices. Hi CinciRick, would really like ur help on this or anyone out there. I had followed ur instructions to install the driver for the webcam. Bfore installing there were no yellow flags watsoever in any of the devices in Device Manager. HOwever, after installing the driver following the instructions, everytime I start my windows, there'll be a sign saying 'Webcam driver fail.
Please restart camera or computer' and now there's 6 yellow flags now in the 6T04 Adapter in the Device Manager. Can u kindly please tell me how to solve this problem or at least undo what I've done. Hope for a speedy reply!
